Our stories are for all generations to encourage recollection of our diverse cultural and ethnic heritages and appreciation of each generation’s contribution to our distinctive Australian way of life.
The stories cover a wide range of subjects based on our own experiences over the last century and in adult audiences the stories are designed as a catalyst to rekindle memories and promote a lively and enjoyable discussion of life in times gone by.
The sharing of personal stories in the community provides an opportunity to reflect, create understanding and provide opportunities to build connections within communities.
These community storytelling presentations are often run under the title of ‘Remember When’ workshops. These workshops are offered at all Retirement Villages, Senior Centres, Community Groups and Organisations.
Senior Heritage Storytelling presentations can be offered at a range of community events such as:
- Seniors Week
- Local community / historic celebrations – Anzac Day, Foundation Day, etc.
- Library – local history events
- Special events such as Christmas, Easter functions, local and State celebrations.
To arrange a Heritage Storytelling Presentation please contact the nearest TOTPSS Branch or General Contact. You can also download the Registration Form and email or post to relevant contact person.
While the Community Storytelling Presentations are on a volunteer basis, a donation is appreciated as a contribution toward some of our costs.
